Big Graphics

Anch. Mus..  Large detail photographs, part of Smithsonian Arctic Research Center show.

Anch. Mus. 20+ year old Alaska history exhibits, all of which soon to be totally redone.

Alaska Transportation Museum in Wasilla.  Presented in a railway car.  We could do this if we wanted to.

Note painted backdrop.

Alaska Native Heritage Center.  Large cut out photos, free standing.

Large photos on wall combined with old photo or artwork and artifact.  A relatively simple, changing display using reflective glass and changing light.  Difficult to explain here.

large photograph on a curved wall.

Alaska Aviation History Museum.  Largish oil painting, 4'x10', maybe.

Printed canvas of military camp in Aleutians.  Hung canvas with wrinkles ok,  jives with content.

San Francisco Maritime Nat'l Par.  Painted mural, 8'x10', approx.  with stuffed seagull above.  Refracted light on floor is  simple, nice feature.

Really like this font used for most text in exhibits at the San Francisco Maritime Historic Nat'l. Park.

We could make one of these.  Figure matches large wall photos.

Good use of 2-d and 3-d combination.

Moving refracted blue light projected from above with 2 cameras.  Pretty easy to accomplish I think.

Faux archaeology with light.

More good 2-d 3-d combo.  On the wharf.   We could do Cannery and/or copper ore theme.

California Academy of Sciences.  Painted backdrop to African dioramas.

Not overly detailed.

A big story here but too much small text and images for my taste.

Variety works.

Walls are photos with graphic silhouettes on 3/4" ply.  Ceiling printed synthetic (?)  mesh cloth stretched over metal frame.

It's ok for wood edges to show, hardware and line to show.  Utilitarian but clean.

This had an interactive floor I couldn't figure out.

Baobab looks textured but is flat photo mounted on 1/2" ply on metal framework.

Simple design graphics, sans detail.

Big and busy but not overwhelming because of scale, I think.

3-d, map and wood grain, one color.  A nice combo I like.

Large simple graphics, lines and arrows might have been carved.

Willies bigger cousin.

Demo backdrop with magnetic panel to make a fish.

Versatile.  I want to use this stuff somewhere.  The printing on it was good too.

Light printed fabric stretched over metal framework.

Donor wall.  Pretty cool.  Each block about 5" square.

San Francisco Maritime Mus.

3 sided panels with lots of graphics.  A space saver.  Good concept but i don't care for the obvious gadgetry, wheels and bars, in this case.

at the Burke Museum

I like this one.

Printed dino on.......wood or fiberglass.

MOHAI.   large photos at top of stairs, leading to Native Ground exhibit.

Painted wall and floor.

Gotta wonder about the durability here.

Stained glass for the Klondike exhibit.
